Storytime!

When I was 6, we had this huge…

One morning I woke up, just in my knickers and went to make a cup of tea before getting ready for work. When I grabbed the cup, I somehow slipped, and drop hot water on my chest… Immediately took something to dry it and on the way, got a nice chunk of skin with it. A 2cm per 2cm piece, gone. Had a bit of a freak out hollywood moment aka “OMG MY SKIN IS GONE, IT’S RAW MEAT.” LOL.
It took about 2 months to actually close and dry, and now I have this funny little white scar on the side of one of my boob. General joke back then was finding if it looked like a country so I could name it. We never did.
I have a shit skin, I scar terribly, and I’m covered with white scars, ranging from mosquito bites to just hurting myself. I learned to get used to it :(

YEAH STORIES.

I have a scar on my forehead that I’m surprised people never notice until I point it out but anyway… I was really young, around 3-ish or so, and I was at my grandparents’ apartment. I can recall some really fuzzy images of what happened, not exactly, but I remember turning a corner, running down the stairs, then at some point I fell. Next thing I remember is my mom dabbing at this massive gash on my forehead saying we needed to go to the hospital, then being carried to the hospital from the car with a scarf around my head, then clenching my eyes shut as I squeezed someone’s hands… The doctors sewed my forehead shut with a needle and thread, which surprises me, since I’ve never heard of that before. I usually just hear of the common stitches, the staples sort of deal.

I apparently said thank you to the doctor afterward, which surprised everyone. What, he sewed my head shut, LOL. The skin there is now always a shade or two lighter and it has this odd texture to it, it’s like an indent in my forehead.

I also have a ton of other scars, one being in my left palm where I was stabbed with a sharp metal nail file, umm.

Scar on my chin from where I tried to do a ice skating move too far above my skill level and just fell on my face hard enough to split the skin open. Not cut, not scraped, but split from the impact. Then I walked around all day with a generally bloody paper towel to my face since I had art class but no one had band-aids (wtf?).

Also scar on my hip from 3rd grade when I slipped on gravel. Bled profusely (in my memory) but the teachers wouldn’t let me in to the school because it was the 4-6th graders school, and as a 3rd grader I was only there cause of cafeteria renovations. We weren’t allowed in to the school after we exited for recess. So I sat on a bench and cried till we got back on the buses back to the 0-3rd school. I also remember ripping off that band-aid cause it was the biggest band-aid I’d ever gotten.
